Distance Covered:

A nice early start for me and Steve, on the water by 6.30am. I was perfectly powered up on my flatly rigged 5.7m and my big wave board and having a whale of a time blasting out through the waves with some nice jumps, making good gybes on the outside followed by a good blast back in and nicely controlled fully planing gybes on the inside... Unfortunately, after not long on the wter I felt a bit of a twinge in my backm so knowing what my history is for back injuries I gybed and headed back to shore just in case. By the time I sailed back in my back was hurting quite a bit and carrying my kit out of the water didn't help.

I rested for a bit but it was still hurting so decided to lay it safe and pack up for the day despite only having had a short session and the conditions being perfect. Steve carried my kit up the beach for me and I had a painful time de-rigging... Several painkillers later and it still hurts too much to do anything... And worse still, Steve is still out there sailing... Would probably have been at least a 4 star session if not 5, but only 3 as it was so short-lived.
